Ehsan Taheri, assistant professor of aerospace engineering, has been invited to serve as an associate editor of the Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications. The journal covers the general field of optimization and aerospace engineering, focusing on the mathematical optimization techniques and their applications to science and engineering.
Taheri joins the journal’s distinguished editorial board that includes researchers and academics from around the world.
“Perhaps, one of the most rewarding aspects of serving as an associate editor is the opportunity to be exposed to the most recent research ideas from different research groups,” Taheri said. “Associate editors not only have to stay up-to-date with the state-of-the-art in their fields, but they are also exposed to the very novel ideas. Serving as an associate editor is an important responsibility and I am honored to have been given this great opportunity.”
Brian Thurow, chair of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, noted the importance of the journal publication process on a faculty member’s career.
“Being asked to serve as an associate editor for a high impact journal, such as the Journal of Optimization Theory and Application, is an honor and an indication of the respect that the scientific community in the field of optimization has for Dr. Taheri and his work,” said Thurow, the W. Allen and Martha Reed Professor. “This position will expose Dr. Taheri to new topics and advancements in the field and will help strengthen his reputation as a scholar.”
