November 8, 2012 - The guest speaker was Tim Barnett from the Alabama Department of Transportation. He spoke with the student chapter about the “Highway Safety in Alabama”. After the meeting, the student chapter organized a field trip to the Auburn University Regional Airport.

October 25, 2012 - Kristin Scurlock, Graduate Research Assistant at Auburn University in Civil Engineering, Transportation, presented her Independent Study entitled “Development of a Bicycle Demand Model for Brooklyn, New York”.

October 18, 2012 - Cathy Love, Campus Civil Engineer from Auburn University, and Don Andrae, Parking Services Manager of Auburn University, presented “Parking and Traffic Policies and Regulations: How are they made? Who makes them? How can you contribute?”. This meeting was very interesting because many changes to parking policies and regulations were made on Auburn University Campus recently.

October 4, 2012 - Four student chapter members went to the Fall 2012 ALSITE meeting at the Montgomery Zoo. The meeting included two technical sessions and a business meeting.

September 20, 2012 - Dr. Rod E. Turochy, from the Department of Civil Engineering, spoke to the students about “Careers in Transportation and ITE: What’s in it for me?”. This topic was of particular interest because classes usually do not cover much information about careers in Transportation. Also, as this was the first meeting of the Fall semester, an overview of what ITE is and what activities were planned by the student chapter were also discussed.

July 17, 2012 - That was the only meeting of the summer and William Hutto, Jr., the director of the Auburn University Regional Airport, came to speak about aviation and the recent additions and upgrades to the Auburn University Regional Airport.

April 9, 2012 - Stan Biddick from ALDOT presented “The Montgomery Outer Loop and ALDOT’s use of Technology”. This was the final student chapter meeting for the semester. Upcoming events were discussed.

April 5, 2012 - Jeff Stephenson of Sain Associates in Birmingham, AL, spoke to the student chapter about “Being a Consulting Traffic Engineer: How, What, Where, and a Few Sample Projects”. This was interesting because it could give students an overview of the work of a Consulting Traffic Engineering.

March 29, 2012 - Robert V. Kolar, a Consulting Engineer from Birmingham, AL, presented “How Decisions Required by the MUTCD affect Public Safety”.

March 1, 2012 - Four student chapter members went to the ALSITE spring meeting at Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, AL. The meeting included two technical sessions, the first annual Alabama Student Traffic Bowl, the business meeting, and a self-guided museum tour. Auburn University had a team in the Traffic Bowl competition.

February 2, 2012 - This was the first student chapter meeting for the semester. The meeting started with a discussion of upcoming events. ALDOT Traffic Engineer Kris Kiefer presented “Implementing the 2009 MUTCD: Perspectives of an ALDOT Division Traffic Engineer”.
