Collaborative work across disciplines is an important aspect in Auburn Engineering's approach to research. The Alabama Micro/Nano Science and Technology Center (AMNSTC) at Auburn University has a mission to advance microelectronics science and engineering education by providing facilities which encourage interdisciplinary research and educational activities within Auburn University, the State of Alabama and beyond. The AMNSTC has grown to include nine laboratories in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Physics, with more than 30 faculty and staff members and 50 graduate students involved in its research activities.
