Research group of Dr. Jose Vasconcelos
Welcome to Research Group website of Dr. Jose G. Vasconcelos, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Auburn University.
Our group research interests includes the study of unsteady, multiphase flow phenomena. In terms of urban water systems that includes air-water interactions in closed pipes, urban geysering, air pockets in pipelines and stormwater tunnels, among others.
Other two-phase flows, including gravity currents, turbidity currents, sediment settling and resuspension are in our scope of interest as well. Our investigations also include numerical modeling, laboratorial and field monitoring of headwater watershed hydrology, stormwater hydraulics and optimization of water systems.
