Achievements
The first public university in the nation to offer the bachelor of software engineering
degree. - A leader in the microelectronics field since 1974, when the Auburn Electrical
Engineering Department built its first microelectronics research laboratory.
In 1984, the Alabama Microelectronics Science and technology Center was founded.
- Attracting research funds from such notable sources as NASA, the National Science
Foundation, the Department of Defense, the Semiconductor Research Corporation,
Texas Instruments, IBM and Daimler Chrysler Electronics.
