The Thomas Walter Center for Technology Management represents a joint effort of the Ginn College of Engineering and the College of Business. The Center enhances the opportunities for the two College faculty and students to engage in joint research and educational programs.

The faculty associated with the Center design and offer the unique Business-Engineering-Technology minor for selected engineering and business undergraduate students. This minor maybe added on to any major in the two colleges. Students are trained in cross-functional teamwork and entrepreneurial skills.

The Center also assists the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), Auburn University, in commercializing new inventions of Engineering Faculty. The process of commercialization covers market research, identification of potential licensors, technical and economic implications of scaling the invention to commercial size, and a recommendation to the Office of Technology Transfer.

Other Projects

TWC works with faculty affiliated with all disciplines of engineering and business, such as industrial, mechanical, materials, management, marketing, accounting, and logistics. Internationally, the Center has worked on projects with faculty from Cranfield University, UK, University of Plymouth, UK, and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
