The Occupational Safety Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Program at Auburn University
is part of the Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety a consortium of programs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University that offers graduate education in occupational health nursing, industrial hygiene
and occupational safety and ergonomics. The center is dedicated to the protection
and promotion of the health and safety of workers in our region. Research efforts
are focused on the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) priorities, especially
those of the forestry and wood related industries.
The Center also offers continuing education opportunities for professionals working in occupational health and safety and develops outreach programs that provide information on occupational health and safety issues to educational institutions, public agencies, businesses, workers and the general public.
