Registration Form for ALDOT Radiation Safety Training Courses
Maximum of 30 students; minimum of 8 students
This is a one-day classroom course (takes places over two half-days). The objective is to ensure that individuals who will use nuclear density gauges and nuclear asphalt content gauges understand the appropriate safety procedures with the gauges. Topics to be covered include: the health hazards of the radioactive materials; the pertinent rules and regulations of the Radiological Safety Manual and the State of Alabama Radiation Protection Regulations published by the State of Alabama Department of Public Health, Bureau of Environmental Health; and the manufacturer's instructions for the gauge being used.
This course is a prerequisite to the Earthwork/Base Technology, Asphalt Level I and Radiation Safety Officer courses. This course is also a prerequisite for non‐ALDOT technicians who wish to take the Roadway Technology course.
Fees:
Registration fee: $250/student
Written retake: $150/student
The costs for housing, food, and transportation are the responsibility of each student.
Deadline:
Pre-payment and registration is required, and must be received no later than 10 days prior to the start date of the course.
Refunds:
Cancellations two weeks prior to the start date of the course will result in a complete refund of registration fee. No refunds will be provided for a cancellation after that date.
