My research focuses on air filtration from high performance platforms at short contact. It includes volatile organic substances, which are usually encountered in indoor and outdoor air, removal using microfibrous entrapped catalyst on different pleated configuration at high face velocity and temperature. It also involves understanding the surface kinetics, pressure drop phenomena at high face velocity and aging of catalyst. I use noble metal on common support particles of micrometer size as a catalyst and also metal fiber to entrap the catalyst. The main objective of this project is to introduce a smaller and lighter structural matter to remove VOC in the ducting system than the conventional catalytic reactor i.e. packed bed and monolith at microsecond.
