AUDFS views the food industry as more than producers, processors or retailers.
It is a complex system composed of many links and interactions. Our center will
strive to involve industry representatives from three key areas.
Electronic Manufacturers
Electronic manufacturers will play a vital role in the development and production of components required to produce the sensors and handheld detection equipment outlined in our research overviews. These businesses produce the equipment to fabricate the monitoring devices used by packagers, processors, inspectors and practitioners. AUDFS interaction with industry must take into account the relationship among all parts of the industry.
Producers, Manufacturers, Suppliers and Distributors
The food industry is driven by those companies providing resources for food and feed production. These resources include everything from the testing supplies needed to ensure product safety, equipment used in the food and feed production process, and the necessary materials to properly package and label end products.
Practitioners
Practitioners include the various end-users of food and feed products. Resalers, retail establishments, restaurants and their corresponding trade organizations, represent the practitioner-level of our industrial scope.
Trade Associations
Trade associations play a vital role in offering information on current trends, issues and concerns of their particular portion of the food industry, as well as providing a conduit of information for its membership.
