The Auburn University Detection and Food Safety Center is based in the Materials
Research & Education Center, located in Wilmore Laboratories. In November
2001, Wilmore Laboratories completed a $14 million renovation supported by the
NSF ARI program, the State of Alabama and other nonfederal sources, which included
private donors. About 12,000 square feet of space, including a dedicated Class-100
clean room and sensors development laboratories, are available for AUDFS-related
research.
Research facilities in the College of Science and Mathematics' Rouse Life Sciences Building, College of Agriculture's Poultry Science Research Unit, College of Human Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine's Greene Hall and the Auburn University Hybridoma Laboratory are also a part of the research facilities used to conduct center-based research projects.
