Technician Needs
Because of the importance of specialized equipment in our field, the department currently employs four technicians. Dr. Ramsis Farag is in charge of the physical testing laboratory and contract testing. Stephen Howard is in charge of the analytical laboratory and chemistry laboratories. David Clark is responsible for the non-wovens laboratory and composites. Jeff Thompson is responsible for reinforcement fabric formation and composites. The Department will require one additional technician who would be responsible for the proposed polymer characterization laboratory in order to maintain and assist in the operation of the proposed equipment. Ideally this would be a person with a bachelor's degree in chemistry or materials science/engineering.
