Scholarships

Thanks to support of individuals, foundations, industry and government, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has several scholarship opportunities available for students, including freshman and transfer students. We attempt to nominate exceptional students for these awards by matching their qualifications as closely as possible to the spirit and requirements of the awards.

Your application to Auburn automatically places you in a pool for most university, college and departmental scholarships.   To maximize opportunities for departmental scholarships, students should declare an engineering major. No additional application is required to be considered for the following scholarships.

John P. Brandel Presidential Endowed Scholarship Fund

Awarded by the University Scholarship Office. First preference to Orange County, Florida. Then to Florida and Alabama in that order.

Bridgestone/Firestone Annual Scholarship In Mechanical Engineering

Thomas D. & Frances W. Burson Endowed Scholarship In The Department Of Mechanical Engineering Within The Samuel Ginn College Of Engineering

Preference will be given to students who reside in the Calhoun County, Alabama area

Dexter E. Fearing Endowment For Scholarships In The Department Of Mechanical Engineering Within The Samuel Ginn College Of Engineering

First preference to incoming freshmen based on test scores and/or grades. Secondary preference given all things equal to incoming students in mechanical engineering who are members of the Auburn's track and field team.
