Info for New Students

Email is our primary method of communication with students so make sure that you are subscribed to the Graduate Student Email List. To sign-up click here.

New graduate students should download and read the New Graduate Student Orientation presentation, which can be found here. We will go over an updated version of this presentation during the orientation session (see the schedule below for details).

Note that any student with a minimum of 10 hours (.25 FTE) and minimum stipend of $612/month is required to have insurance and will be automatically charged unless they turn in the waiver form NO LATER than the 9th class day. Waiver forms are available at: http://www.grad.auburn.edu/Graduate_Student_Insurance/waiver.html. If a waiver form is not turned in to the Graduate Insurance office in Foy Hall by the 9th class day, the student will be enrolled for the entire semester.

8/9	(10:00 a.m., 3340 Haley Center) – SPEAK exam for international teaching assistants.   Required for all international teaching assistants who have not yet met the Graduate School requirements for TAs (50 on SPEAK, 23 on iBT Speaking section)
8/15	(8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch, 113A Lowder Hall) – Graduate School Orientation.  See http://grad.auburn.edu/general/news.html for more details.
