A: As specified in The Bulletin, a graduate student may audit any course that is not on the plan of study with permission of the Graduate School. The audit request form is at https://fp.auburn.edu/gradschl/public_html/forms/audit.asp. If you have a graduate assistantship through the INSY department, please see Dr. Alice Smith if you wish to audit a course.
A: All graduate students must have an advisory committee. For PhD students and masters students in the thesis or project options, you will first select your primary advisor and your advisor and you will jointly select the remaining committee members.
For masters students in the course work option, select the Graduate Advisor (Jeffrey S. Smith) as your advisor and include Dr. Jorge Valenzuela as the department chair. For course work students, you only need a single member (along with the department chair).
A: The POS must be approved prior to the semester in which you plan to graduate. It is generally best to complete the POS as soon as you can form your committee (generally the second or third semester in school). See the FAQ on graduate committees above. The POS is done online through GPOST (http://graduate.auburn.edu/gspoststudent/).
