Program Educational Objectives
To graduate students who will:
- Have the technical expertise necessary for the broad practice of Industrial and
Systems Engineering. This includes analytical, computational and experimental
expertise and the ability to integrate and synthesize their expertise to solve
complex problems.
- View technical problems from a systems perspective with attention to human, business,
equipment, materials, energy and information aspects and with appreciation of
global and societal contexts.
- Be able to effectively communicate technical ideas through oral and written media
and to function effectively as members and/or leaders of diverse teams.
- Appreciate the changing world and its effect on the practice of engineering with
concern for ethics, currency of expertise and contemporary issues.
