Birdsong Study Abroad Scholarship Program
The Birdsong Study Abroad Program is designed to broaden the education of engineering students. Students submit a proposal for a semester or year of international study in a discipline other than engineering.
Minimum Criteria for Birdsong Scholarship Applicants
Students must be an undergraduate enrolled full time in a degree granting program in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University.
Applicants must have achieved sophomore standing and be in good standing at Auburn University.
Applicants must have an Auburn University cumulative grade point average (gpa)
of 3.0 or above.
Applications shall consist of:
- a completed application form obtained from Engineering Student Services in Shelby 1210
- a plan of study developed by the student that meets the objectives of the scholarship, does not to exceed five (5) pages in length, and includes a detailed plan of study abroad activities and an estimate of all costs and fees.
The application shall be submitted in print form to Dr. Bob Karcher, Director

Deadline for submission of completed applications is February 15 of each calendar year.
The Birdsong Scholarship Committee recognizes that a wide variety of possibilities of study, travel, research and volunteer activities exists world wide, therefore no set number or award amount is established. Each application is reviewed on its own merit.
