Blair receives National Naval Officers Association scholarship

Auburn University’s Department of Electrical Engineering senior Udarius Blair, center, has received an academic scholarship from the National Naval Officers Association. Retired United States Navy Capt. Robert L. Ford, third from left, presented a check for $5,000. Blair is the first student at the collegiate level to receive the naval officers’ scholarship. Also present at the ceremony were, from left, Adam Payne and Chris Clayton, members of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE); Nels Madsen, associate dean for assessment in the College of Engineering; and NSBE members Antionne Morris and Josh Spencer. Blair, a native of Highland Home, Ala., was cited for his work with NSBE and his academic record.
