8/16/2007 - 8/15/2010

Wireless and Mobile technology is changing the very nature of computing. This opportunity presents a great challenge for computer scientists and software engineers and requires the brightest and most diverse group of people to participate. Recognizing the potential of this new field of study, Auburn University and the US Department of Education have provided four (4) graduate research fellowships to study in the area of wireless technology. The mission of the program is to attract outstanding US citizens and/or permanent residents to pursue advanced study, preferably PhD degree, in this area.  Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

This fellowship will provide all academic and living expenses for graduate study at Auburn University.  The academic expenses will include, but may not be limited to,

  • tuition and fees
  • books
  • computers and other research equipment/devices
  • professional membership fees
  • travels to professional conferences and workshops
  • publications
  • other costs related to graduate study

The amount of stipend is dependent on the financial need of individual students, and is not to exceed $30,000 per year. Each student is required to prove the financial need by filing the FAFSA form (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/complete013.htm).

The requirements of application for a fellowship include:
