Information Technology Minor

The information technology minor provides students with basic skills necessary to administer computer and Internet technology. These skills include the ability to do web page development, applet and servlet development and maintenance, Java programming, script programming, object-oriented programming, and system administration.

Fifteen semester hours of COMP are required to complete the minor. A minimum of nine semester hours must be at the 3000-level or above, selected from the following courses: COMP 3000, COMP 4000, COMP 4730, COMP 5000, COMP 5010, COMP 5020, COMP 5030.

A typical selection of fifteen hours that satisfy these requirements is the following.

  • COMP 1000 (2 hours)
  • COMP 2000 (3 hours)
  • COMP 3000 (3 hours)
  • COMP 4000 (3 hours)
  • COMP 4730 (1 hour)
  • COMP 5000 (3 hours)
