GRTF application is accepted around the year but must be received one month before a new semester starts.
All continuing GRTF recipients must file a new application in April each year.
PROCEDURE:
If a student is currently not funded, he/she will be considered only if his/her advisor guarantees GRA funding for the next two terms.
The following meritorious points will be used in the competition ranking:
12* (# peer-reviewed journal/magazine/book-chapter /edited-collection pubs in-print/accepted)

10* (# peer-reviewed journal/magazine/book-chapter /edited-collection pubs submitted)

8* (# peer-reviewed conference/workshop/symposium etc. pubs in print/accepted)

6* (# peer-reviewed conference/workshop/symposium etc. pubs submitted)

4* (# CSSE Tech Reports or any other not-peer-reviewed pubs in-print/accepted)

(Auburn Graduate GPA - 3.0) * 10
10 points if advisor attests to the promising nature of student
4 points: BS or equivalent
8 points: MS or equivalent
12 points: PhD or equivalent
poor (-10 points)
below average (-5 points)
average (0 points)
above average (5 points)
excellent (10 points)
5 points if advisor is untenured
Total score: sum of the 9 (1-9) subscores.
If there is a tie at the cut-off point, GPO will decide.
