Program Outcomes

Auburn University Civil Engineering graduates will

  1. Be proficient in (1) applied mathematics, (2) science, (3) basic engineering science, and (4) at least four major civil engineering disciplines;
  2. Have an ability to (1) identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems, (2) conduct laboratory experiments and to critically analyze and interpret data in civil engineering disciplines, (3) design components, systems, or processes, (4) effectively communicate through oral, written, and graphical means, (5) contribute as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and (6) contribute to the completion of a major design project;
  3. Appreciate the need for (1) professional licensure, (2) lifelong learning, and (3) consideration of public and private needs, political influences, global factors, and environmental constraints on civil engineering practice; and
  4. Understand the professional and ethical responsibilities of a Civil Engineer.
