The Department of Civil Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2010 in Transportation Engineering. Candidates for all ranks will be considered. The selected faculty member is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop an externally funded research program and direct graduate students in the transportation engineering discipline. Transportation engineering will include one or more of the following areas: traffic engineering, traffic operations, traffic safety, geometric design, transportation planning, multimodal transportation, and probability & statistics. A candidate with interest and experience in CADD-based roadway design using InRoads/MicroStation is highly desirable. The selected candidate is also expected to engage in department, college, university, and professional service. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering, meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. on the date appointment is scheduled to begin, and must be able to communicate effectively in English. The new faculty member should be able to complete requirements for professional engineering registration in a timely manner.
