During the Summer of 2003 the Department of Chemical Engineering developed a strategic plan to assist in the attainment of departmental goals and long-term objectives. This plan addressed the state of the department (as of July 2003), presented a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) for the department and outlined areas for current and future research focus. This document also presents a name change initiative for the deparment.
Our vision is that the Department of Chemical Engineering at Auburn University will be recognized as one of the top chemical engineering programs in the country. Its graduates will be successful in leading industrial, academic, and government organizations; its research will make significant contributions towards improving the economic competitiveness and quality of life for the nation; its faculty will be internationally recognized; and it will be a leader in the intellectual development of Chemical Engineering.
