Proposed Wood Chunker Design

Wood chunks can be used for energy feedstock as well as a higher valued product in the patio fireplace market. Our goal is to design a machine that will convert logging residues into fist-sized wood chunks in a cost-effective manner. The machine will be mounted on a trailer suitable to being pulled with a one-ton dual rear wheel pickup.

Urban Stream Restoration: Parkerson Mill Creek Reach A

Reach A of Parkerson Mill Creek is located in the Tallapoosa watershed at the northwest corner of the Donahue Drive and Biggio Drive intersection in Auburn, Alabama. As the City of Auburn and Auburn University campus grew and expanded over time, the hydrological regime of Reach A was forever changed by the increase in surface runoff from development. This resulted in severe channel erosion and water quality reduction affecting Reach A as well as downstream portions of Parkerson Mill Creek.
