Program Outcomes
The Biosystems Engineering degree program promotes the competencies and abilities,
within the context defined by the Biosystems Engineering program objectives, that
allow students to:
- Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering;
- Design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data;
- Design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs;
- Function on multi-disciplinary teams;
- Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems;
- Understand professional and ethical responsibility;
- Communicate effectively;
- Gain a broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions
in a global and societal context;
- Recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning;
- Gain knowledge of contemporary issues; and
- Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering
practice.
