Flight Dynamics Laboratory & Center For Advanced Simulation & Technology (CAST)

The Flight Dynamics Laboratory and the Center for Advanced Simulation and Technology (CAST) are co-located in AE 206, Rooms A & B (see Figs. 13 and 14).These labs both utilize computers for modeling and simulation.The CAST portion of the laboratory was developed under a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) grant.

Flight Simulator Lab

Room 206 A is a multi-media/video-conferencing room that has a seating capacity of 20. Room control is via an AMX Ascent III control system. Multi-media equipment includes a NEC GT 2150 LCD projector, a Da-Lite Cosmopolitan 8 ft screen, a Samsung 6000 document camera, a custom lecture, a Dell 8200 PC, a Smart Podium IM 150 flat display, a Panasonic PSSV1421 SVHS VCR, a Telex FMR wireless lavalier mic system. Roland speakers, and a Biamp Advantage 801 audio mixer.The video-conferencing component includes a Tandberg 6000 Video Conference Codec, an Audio Science PZM microphone, two Sony EVID cameras, a Panasonic 27'' monitor, an Extron RGBHV DA, and a ''video brick''.

Room 206B is the simulation development portion of the Flight Dynamics and Control Lab. It contains computers, displays, wireless interface equipment, GPS receivers, printers, and office furniture for personnel
