This handbook has been prepared to help you plan and carry out your graduate program of study in aerospace engineering at Auburn University. At the graduate level, the department offers Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Aerospace Engineering (M.A.E.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. These graduate programs are designed to prepare students for careers in the aerospace industry, in government laboratories, and in academia. Studies for the Ph.D. degree are also designed to produce research scholars.
This handbook contains the specific requirements for each degree and information
on various other policies and requirements of the Aerospace Engineering Department.
General regulations for graduate students are covered in the Auburn University Bulletin. All necessary Graduate School forms are available online at the Auburn University Graduate Program Website. Aerospace Engineering Department information is also available online HERE. Because this booklet is intended to supplement the Bulletin and not to replace
it, you should use this handbook in conjunction with the Bulletin in planning
your graduate program. Your Major Professor and the Graduate Program Officer will
be available to assist you with any aspect of your program. Each student, however,
is responsible for the various requirements specified in the Bulletin and in this
handbook. It is the student's responsibility to meet all requirements and deadlines
specified by these documents or any other departmental or Graduate School policy
statement. It is suggested that you use the appropriate degree checklist, published
herein, to ensure that you satisfy all of the requirements.
