Formula SAE International Competition

This year at Formula SAE in Romeo, Michigan Auburn faced more obstacles than any competition in recent memory and still managed to emerge with a 15th place overall out of 125.  Trouble passing the noise test kept the team from competing in skidpad and allowed us only one acceleration run.  Injector problems continued to plague us through the autocross and endurance events but we managed to place 31st and 17th in those respectively.  However, the team truly shined in the static events, which has been a weak spot in the past.  We placed 11th in cost and 3rd in presentation, which worlds better than ever before.  In the prestigious design event we advanced to the semi-finals where we were given 6th place.  The judges commented that they were impressed with our overall understanding of the car and specifically our understanding of the tires.  They also commented on generally clean and proper fabrication and assembly techniques.
We had a blast, as always, and with a completely new team organization for the 2007 season, we expect even bigger and better things of ourselves.
