Bowen Dong, senior in computer science, was named the computer science program’s outstanding student for 2017. After graduation, he is taking his engineering talents into the workforce while he pursues an MBA.
“I am originally from Huntsville, Alabama, and came to Auburn, because of its reputable college of engineering. Both my parents work in the computer science field, so I grew up around it. I could see how influential the technology field is becoming and wanted to be a part of it. As I started taking in-major classes, I become more confident that computer science would be the right career path for me. I enjoy the constant challenge and critical thinking involved in programming. After graduation, I am excited to begin working at AT&T, as well as pursue my MBA. This award means a lot to me, as I am honored to be recognized by such a reputable college. I am truly thankful for all the help and encouragement I have received from my peers and the faculty during my four years here. The support I have received at Auburn is what will make me a confident and competent engineer entering the workforce.”
