Everitt Award of Excellence at a reception honoring graduating electrical, computer and wireless hardware engineers at Auburn University. Mary Robbins, doctoral student in Auburn University's Department of Civil Engineering, recently received a scholarship from the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT). This national scholarship is given annually to top graduate students in the field of asphalt pavement engineering. Robbins' award includes a $3,000 scholarship, a copy of the latest AAPT journal and a year's membership in AAPT. Read more >>
Mechanical engineering students Michael Thompson and Matthew Cromer have been awarded SAE International's Long Term Member Sponsored Scholarship. Thompson is a former Baja SAE team captain and organizer of the 2009 Alabama Baja SAE event, and Cromer previously served as the SAE collegiate branch president and is now the incoming Formula SAE team captain. Ryan Whaley, senior in Auburn University's Department of Civil Engineering, was recently awarded two scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year from the Wire Reinforcement Institute (WRI) Education Foundation and APAC Midsouth Inc. The two scholarships total more than $4,000. Read more >>
Auburn University's Austin Smith, senior in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, recently received a $1,000 scholarship from the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). Smith is involved with several Auburn Engineering organizations, including the Society of Automotive Engineers, Cupola Engineering Ambassadors and Auburn's Formula SAE Racing Team.
