Colonel Presents Seminar on Joint Army and Marine Combat Robotics Project

Col. Terry Griffin, project manager for the Army and Marine Corps Robotic Systems Joint Project Office at Redstone Arsenal, recently presented an engineering seminar on the Auburn campus that provided an overview of the use of robotic systems in Iraq, Afghanistan and other combat situations.

The lecture included a discussion of current and future ground robotic systems, joint robotic operations of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the military's ground robotic master plan and current technology needs.

A 1976 Auburn graduate, Griffin has served in a Huey-Cobra light attack helicopter squadron; in operational command elements as an executive officer or squadron commander; and as commander of a Reserve Marine Air Group in Philadelphia, where he activated a CH-53E squadron in response to Operation Enduring Freedom.

He has served in a variety of other assignments, including training flight instructors and students in the Naval Air Training Command and completing two staff assignments at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C.

Griffin received his MBA from Averett College in 1993. His personal awards include the Navy Achievement Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals and two Legions of Merit.
