Student Team Semifinalist in National Urban Challenge

Unmanned vehicle at DARPA Urban ChallengeThe Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) recently announced that the SciAutonics/Auburn Engineering team will be among the semifinalists for DARPA's Urban Challenge. Only 53 of the competition's original 89 teams moved on to the next phase of the competition. The team is led by Robert Daily, a doctoral student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. AU Students Garner Awards

Rajesh Kitey, an Auburn graduate with a doctorate in mechanical engineering, has been selected as a recipient of this year's Carolyn Taylor Carr Outstanding Dissertation Award.

Volkan Ustun, doctoral student in industrial and systems engineering, recently received the Gene Newman Award for Excellence in Modeling and Simulation Research at the 2007 Modeling, Simulation & Gaming Student Capstone Conference.

Pallavi Chitta, a doctoral student in chemical engineering, recently won a second place award for her poster presentation at the 20th annual Filtrations and Separations Conference hosted by the American Filtration and Separations Society in Orlando, Fla. Read full story

Auburn Students Receive National Academy for Nuclear Training Scholarships
