College of Engineering / Current Students / Academic Support / Tutor

The College of Engineering offers tutoring services in several courses from pre-engineering subjects related to math and science, as well as some of the sophomore-level supporting courses.  If you are interested in becoming a tutor, click here.

Summer tutoring has ended.  More information regarding tutoring for Fall 2017 coming in mid-August.

Individual Tutoring

Appointments are required for one-on-one tutoring, and students can make a maximum of four appointments a week. Tutoring sessions are free to all engineering students. Appointments are scheduled according to the student's needs and availability of a tutor for the required subject. Students are to check-in at 1202 Shelby Center at their appointed time to meet with the tutor.

Guidelines for using the ESS Tutoring Services

  • Tutors are not permitted to do your homework, so come with prepared questions.
  • Bring your textbook and notes to the tutoring session.
  • Cancellations for tutoring need to be done 24 hours prior to appointment through Advise Assist. Failure to do so will result in the appointment being marked as a No Show. Two No Shows in a semester results in a loss of tutoring privileges for the remainder of the semester.
Group Tutoring - Fall and Spring only.

No appointment is necessary for group tutoring sessions. Drop in hours begin at 5 PM and end at 10 PM Sunday through Thursday nights.  Sessions are free to all engineering students and are held in the Shelby Center 1202.  See schedule link at top for course offering by time.

Access to Shelby is not restricted until 9:30 PM.  You should not need card swipe access to access the building, but if you are an Engineering student and would like to request access to Shelby, you should request it here.  Make sure the browser you submit the form from is not running script blockers or it may not submit correctly.
