Preliminary CoE Procedures and Policies

The procedures and policies proposed herein are to be implemented in the College of Engineering beginning Spring Quarter 1999.  However, these policies and procedures are preliminary and are a part of the university wide Faculty Workload Policy one-year trial period.  It is imperative that you share any problems, concerns, questions, and/or difficulties that arise during the trial period.  Dr. Madsen will be coordinating the trial within the College of Engineering.  Please contact him at nmadsen@eng.auburn.edu or at 844-2866 with any information you would like to share regarding the faculty workload policy.

College of Engineering Objectives for the Faculty Workload Policy

  1. Provide our constituencies with a meaningful description of faculty responsibilities and activities.
  2. Ensure that faculty are treated equitably relative to assigned duties and expected contributions.
  3. Reduce/coordinate/combine faculty reporting responsibilities including service and annual reports.
  4. Ensure that faculty evaluations reflect assigned duties.
  5. Assist in ensuring that faculty resources are effectively used in achieving program, department, college, and university goals and objectives.
