Official Web Site Structure
Official pages represent the college and its offices, divisions and departments
to the college's various audiences: potential and current students, faculty, staff,
alumni, friends, and visitors. Official pages must conform to the design styles
adopted by the College of Engineering to give the site unity, coherence, functionality
and readability.
- The contents of all official pages must reside on the college's Web server. All
official pages will be built using template pages supplied through the Web site
administrator and will be maintained and regularly updated by the college offices
or departments responsible for them.
- Each official page within the college's Web site will be readily identifiable
as a part of its site by the use of the college logo or logotype, a specific palette
of colors and specific typefaces.
- Text on official pages will conform to that outlined in the college's style manual.
- Official pages will be accurate, well written, concise, free of spelling and
grammatical errors and will otherwise represent the college, its mission and values
in a positive light.
- Academic departments will post the following information for all faculty and
staff:
a. Head shot
b. Preferred name
c. Title
d. Office phone number
e. Link to email form
f. Faculty only: link to two-page online resume
g. Staff only: one or two sentence job description
h. Optional: Link to expanded resume or personal Web page
- The Web site administrator will regularly monitor all official pages to help
ensure that content remains current. Units with outdated materials will be notified
to update their page or remove the outdated material within five working days.
