Site Structure / Organization

  • Files, images, icons, photographs and other types of assets for the Web site should be stored in specific folders for each main section.  The main section would be considered as the root directory for that Web Property (Departments and other stand-alone sites) of the Colleges Web site.
  • Example: College of Engineering / Images
  • Icons are stored in an icons folder under the images
  • Example: College of Engineering / Images / Icons
  • Photographs are stored in each main directory in a folder called photos 
  • Example: /photos/
  • Files are stored in each main directory in a folder called files
  • Example: /files/
  • Web site pages are stored in a folder/directory of the related topic for the page.
