Richard A. Chow-wah

Chow-wah is responsible for directing all activities of engine, transmission and axle production operations, including 12 plants, 9,300 employees and total sales revenues of over $6 billion. His group has generated powertrain sales of over $100 million to automotive companies in China, Russia and around the world. He serves on the board of directors at Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA), a joint venture between Chrysler, Hyundai and Mitsubishi to produce engines at various world-wide locations. Chow-wah is a member of Chrysler's executive diversity committee and the executive sponsor of the Chrysler Asian Network (CAN). His involvement with the Asian community also includes the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA), Chinese Association of Greater Detroit (CAGD) and the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC). 

Increasing Flexibility in Automotive Powertrains: Technologies and Manufacturing
Chow-Wah will present the latest technologies, philosophies and strategies being integrated into design and production of Chrysler engines, from SMART manufacturing to various alternative propulsion strategies. He will discuss increasing raw material prices, growing fuel economy requirements and rising governmental regulations, as well as their impact on automotive manufacturers.
