Auburn University

Liu received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Nanchang University and master's degree in management sciences and engineering from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Science. Previously, he worked as an investment analyst in Shanghai. Liu's research interests include intelligence optimization, statistical modeling and simulation modeling. He will graduate in May.

Simulation Optimization Based on Taylor Kriging and Evolutionary Algorithms
Liu will discuss integrating Taylor Kriging with evolutionary algorithms developed for simulation models with high computational expenses. Taylor Kriging is an enhanced model used to improve the interpolation accuracy of kriging, a group of geostatistical techniques to introduce the value of a random field at an observed location based on observations of its value at nearby locations.
