Gerardo Callegari
Staff Scientist
TRI Princeton
Callegari received his doctoral degree in physics from Buenos Aires University in Argentina. His research interests include interfacial phenomena and characterization of the transport properties of porous materials and micro-fluidics. He is currently the chair and one of two main lecturers of a course entitled "Interaction of Liquids with Porous Materials" at TRI Princeton. TRI Princeton has provided advanced research and education in polymers, fibers, films, human hair and porous materials for more than seven decades.
Absorption of Droplets by Fibrous Materials
Callegari will identify applications to these approaches, such as ink-jet printing
and the interaction between a fibrous substrate and a liquid, as well as the transport
properties of deformable porous materials and structural modification of fibrous
materials. Callegari will also demonstrate the absorption of highly elastic bio-liquids
in elasto-inertial absorption regimes in single pores.
