Qin awarded a three-year NSF grant

Xiao Qin, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, has been awarded a three-year grant from the National Science Foundation for his proposal, "Mathematical reliability models for energy-efficient parallel disk systems."

The $150,000 grant supports Qin's research on developing mathematical reliability models for fault-tolerant energy-aware parallel disk systems. The project will contribute to reliability modeling techniques for parallel disk systems by the development of a reliability analysis modeling toolkit, accompanied with a set of novel mathematical reliability models.
