New Efforts in Ecological Engineering

Our expanded group of faculty is initiating new research and outreach projects in ecological engineering.  Among those new efforts are projects in the following areas:

Spatial Dynamics of Runoff-Contributing Areas for Effective Management of Phosphorus from Land-Applied Poultry Litter; funded by the Alabama Water Resources Research Institute and USGS.  Investigators are Puneet Srivastava and Kyung Yoo (BSEN) and Prabhakar Clement (Civil Engineering).

Watershed Planning: Tools and Web-based Decision Support Systems; funded by US Environmental Protection Agency.  Investigators are Puneet Srivastava (BSEN) and Donn Rodekohr (Agronomy and Soils).

The Fate and Transport of Antimicrobial Trace Contaminants in the Environment; funded by AU's Vice President for Research.  Investigators are Puneet Srivastava (BSEN) and Jacob Dane (Agronomy and Soils).

On-site subsurface wastewater alternatives for the Black Belt; funded by the Alabama Agricultural Land-Grant Alliance.  Investgators are Mark Dougherty and Puneet Srivastava (BSEN), Donn Rodekohr and Eve Brantley (Agronomy and Soils), Teferi Tsegaye and David Mays (Alabama A&M), and Barrett Vaughan (Tuskegee).
