Auburn University was well-represented at the recent biannual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Motorsports Engineering Conference in Dearborn, Mich.
Peter Jones, a faculty member in mechanical engineering, participated in a panel discussion with leaders of the motorsports industry on the myths and realities of a career in racing and the criteria companies commonly use for hiring.
In addition, Charlie Ping, a recent mechanical engineering graduate and captain of Auburn's 2003 Formula SAE team, presented a technical paper titled "Shift-time Limited Acceleration: Final Drive Ratios in Formula SAE".
