I have lots of great memories of my time at Auburn, especially with the American Society of Civil Engineers Student Group in the late 1980's. We had quarterly "CE is my life" parties, which became somewhat infamous. Yes we were still on the quarter system back in those days. We also went on road trips to ASCE Student Conventions. When I was at Auburn we went to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. (1988); University of Miami in Miami, Fla. (1989); and to Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) in Memphis, Tenn. (1990). Theses were all great fun and great competitions. We never won very many competitions, but we had a blast building our concrete canoes and trying to race them. I'm being a little vague on the details of our fun so not to embarrass those who might remember those times or embarrass those even more who do not remember those times but were there! You know who you are! PS. Dr. Benefield was my advisor when I was at Auburn. Thanks for helping be get through Dr. B!
