Auburn University offers two engineering specific living-learning communities - one for women only, the other coeducational.
Engineering
Engineering living-Learning Community
The Engineering Living-Learning Community is composed of freshmen male and female
pre-engineering students. All incoming students in the College of Engineering
who have been guaranteed campus housing are eligible to participate. Entering
college presents a new set of challenges. The purpose of this Living-Learning
Community is to provide a supportive environment for new freshman students to
meet others who are enrolled in their curriculum and facing the challenges of
pre-engineering while living together in the Village.
Women in Engineering
Women in Engineering Living-Learning Community
Freshmen females majoring in Pre-Engineering who have been guaranteed campus
housing are invited to participate in the Women in Engineering Living-Learning
Community. The transition from high school to college is often as challenging
as it is fun; the purpose of this Living-Learning Community is to provide a supportive
environment for new freshman female students to meet others who are enrolled in
their curriculum and facing the unique challenges of being a female pre-engineering
student. This community shares several classes and lives together in the Village.
"The Women in Engineering LLC helps young women in engineering transition to
AU engineering, make friends and gain practical engineering background through
experiential learning."
