Great things have always been expected of those who dare to be the best. For close to 130 years, great things have been expected of Auburn University Engineers, and they have consistently risen to the challenge.
Today, Auburn Engineering is facing a challenge called the future. The faculty and staff have signed on to an ambitious initiative to move Auburn Engineering to the next step in its evolution, one that will position the college to join the ranks of the nation's engineering elite.
To support this strategy to bring Auburn Engineering to the next level, we have taken a hard look at where we stand today and identified benchmarks we needed to achieve by 2008 and beyond that would allow us to fulfill our vision. The resources needed to meet this challenge are significant, totaling $190 million; but if history is an indicator, we believe Auburn engineering alumni will make it happen.
"As I began to think about my own life and how rewarding my own career has been and how much fun I've had, I asked myself what's been important to me, and Auburn was among the things I immediately thought of. I want the young men and women in Alabama to have a shot in an industry that's likely to grow and be fascinating in the years to come. I see Auburn as the vehicle for background and training to give them that opportunity."
