Eagles Set the Bar

Our Engineering Eagles Society salutes the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering's loyal annual supporters. This society recognizes alumni and friends who make annual gifts of $1,000 or more to the college or its academic units. These gifts set the bar high, helping to ensure the quality of the college's programs and providing vital resources that enable the college to pursue its vision of becoming a top engineering program.

Gifts that qualify a donor as a one-year member of the Engineering Eagles Society include the following:

  • Annual gifts totaling $1,000 or more to the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, including corporate matching gifts, gifts may be made to the college or one or more of its programs
  • Combined annual gifts totaling $1,000 or more given by a couple
  • A $1,000 pledge of support by December 31 of the current fiscal year

These gifts can be unrestricted to be used at the discretion of the dean or department head, or designated for a specific use. Past contributions have helped fund:

  • Salary packages that attract world-class faculty
  • Scholarships for students
  • The renovation of Wilmore Laboratories and Ross Hall into state-of-the-art facilities
  • E-Day, an annual fair that introduces high school students to AU Engineering
  • Opportunities for students to travel to professional meetings
  • Hands-on student learning experiences including senior design project and competition teams such as our SAE Mini Baja and Aero Design teams and Formula SAE Racing team
