History

HistoryEngineering has long been part of Auburn. In October, 1872 the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama awarded it's first degrees including four bachelor's, two master's and one professional degree in Civil Engineering awarded to W.E. Horne - one of the first engineering degrees to be awarded by a Southern institution. On that day more than 100 years ago, Horne began a remarkable procession of engineers whose knowledge, ability and commitment have helped build the state, region and nation.

If you're a student or visitor we invite you to learn more about Auburn's history - it's programs, it's place and it's people.

If you're an engineering alum, we invite you to share your memories and photos of your time at Auburn, which we'll review for potential posting on the web.
