Strategic Plan
- Goal 1: Provide engineering graduates with the tools, skills and competencies necessary
to understand and apply today's technologies and to become leaders in developing
and deploying tomorrow's technologies.
- Goal 2: Provide an innovative and productive environment to nurture a new generation
of scholars and 21st century scholarship for the economic and social welfare of
Alabama, the nation and the world.
- Goal 3: Emphasize outreach programs designed to educate non-traditional students, provide
continuing professional education, disseminate research findings, transfer technology,
and meet current and changing needs of Alabamians.
- Goal 4: In accordance with SACS and ABET accreditation requirements, develop means for
defining and assessing quality as it relates to the College of Engineering instructional
program. Employ results to guide continuous quality improvement in the college.
- Goal 5: Increase enrollment in the College of Engineering by attracting and retaining
a high quality, diverse student body.
- Goal 6: Provide adequate facilities and space to meet the needs of the College as it
becomes poised to provide national leadership in education, research, and service
in the 21st century.
- Goal 7: The primary goal of Engineering Development is to raise the private support required
to move the College toward its vision of becoming one of the nation's top twenty
Engineering programs.
