Constructed: 1930
Location: 222 Foy Union Circle
Current use: Departments of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering.
Ross Hall was constructed to house chemistry and chemical engineering and was named for Dean B.B. Ross, who died during its construction. At the time, it had the most floor space of any campus building and its basement included an area for an industrial engineering laboratory, one of the college's first industrial engineering facilities.
Ross Hall currently houses both the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering. Renovation and expansion of this engineering landmark was completed in the Fall of 2006. Visitors to the dedication saw the transformation of the aging Auburn University landmark into a modern facility of classrooms, administrative offices, and cutting-edge laboratories able to accommodate future technological advances, all carefully engineered to retain and showcase the building's historic architectural elements.
